Children and Family Assistance, NFP, is an Illinois Not For Profit, organized exclusively for charitable purposes and benefits the general welfare of the community through its efforts to provide assistance to children and families in times of emergency, duress, violence, deprivation, penury and crisis.
The Mission of Children and Family Assistance, NFP is to provide immediate assistance during times of crisis to low-income children living in Cook County, Illinois. The goal is to provide hope, build confidence and make a positive difference for a child or family with no distinction of race, class, gender or religious creed; to be attentive to the cries of the poor, be attentive to those who suffer in their heart, mind or in their body. The goal is to improve the lot of children in Chicago through sustained basic-needs programs, particularly for those facing food, shelter, school and/or clothing insecurity or issues. We particularly focus on the most basic needs, especially for the families with disabled and sick members. The prevention of homelessness along with social services assistance and intervention is paramount.
Operating funds are derived from private and public donations. The proceeds are used for charitable purposes which reduces the burdens of government to provide benefits to those who need and request them. The corporation as part of its charitable purposes may also make distributions to other organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or the corresponding section of any future United States of America federal tax code.

Children and Family Assistance, NFP is an Illinois Not For Profit Corporation registered with the Illinois Attorney General. Children and Family Assistance, NFP is currently in the process to be determined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charity under section 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. The original artwork above was created by Alfred Teoli, who was a Professor of Biomedical Visualization and Illustrator of Medical Texts at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
